President: Neymar will stay in Brazil
Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro believes highly-coveted striker Neymar will snub a move to Europe and stay in Brazil.
The 21-year-old has been continually linked with a move out of Brazil, with top European clubs such as Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City all hot on his heels. In fact, Neymar was supposedly on the brink of a move to Stamford Bridge last year but the deal fell apart in the last minute.
Now with the summer transfer window heating up, his future at Santos has been thrown into doubt once again.
But De Oliveira Ribeiro is certain the Brazilian international's future will be better served in his homeland.
"I imagine there will be many tempting offers, but I'm talking to Neymar a lot and he's focusing on becoming the best player in the world while still playing in Brazil," he was quoted as saying in The Sun newspaper.
"He would change everything that way.
"At the end of his contract, he'll be 23 years old, have played in the World Cup in Brazil and can become one of the great Brazilians."
