Rampaul fined and Sammy reprimanded

Rampaul fined and Sammy reprimanded
West Indies bowler Ravi Rampaul has been fined for breaching the International Cricket Council's code of conduct during his side's loss to India in the first Test.
Rampaul has been deducted 10% of his match fee for his reaction to being given out while Windies skipper Darren Sammy has also been reprimanded for seeking to influence the officials.
Rampaul was found to have breached 2.1.3 of the code which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision" while Sammy was found to have breached 2.1.8 which deals with conduct "contrary to the spirit of the game".
Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees said the offences could have been avoided had the duo taken note of the actions of India's Amit Mishra, who was fined 10% of his match fee for dissent in the tourists' first innings at Sabina Park.
"Just like India player Amit Mishra in the first innings, Ravi stood his ground and gestured to both the umpires on being given out," said Crowe.
"Darren, who was eventually given not out, immediately looked to influence the umpire as to where the ball struck him.
"It is a pity they didn't take note of Amit's earlier behaviour because it is clear that their actions were also in breach of the code."
