Andre Agassi all set for Hall of Fame
Eight-time Grand Slam champion Andre Agassi will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Agassi, one of only seven men to have won all four Grand Slam titles, will be inducted at a special ceremony at Newport, Rhode Island, home of the Hall of Fame.The former world number one will then take place in an exhibition match the following day, prior to the final of the ATP Campbell's Hall of Fame Championships.
Now 41, Agassi won 60 titles during his playing career, including four at the Australian Open, two at the US Open and one each at Wimbledon and Roland Garros.
Agassi, who is married to another Hall of Fame inductee, Steffi Graf, has in recent years focused on charity work, including running an educational academy in his home city of Las Vegas.
When it was announced Agassi would be inducted back in January, he said: "I'm truly honoured to be recognised alongside the greatest players of tennis."
While Agassi is nominated in the 'recent player' category, Peachy Kellmeyer will be inducted in the 'contributor' category.
The 67-year-old was the WTA's first employee when it was founded in 1973 and played a key role in the growth of the women's game. She is still involved with the organisation today.
