Cycling: Soler moved to Spain
Juan Mauricio Soler has been moved from Switzerland to northern Spain to continue his recovery from a serious bike crash.
Soler has spent the last three weeks in the intensive care unit at Hospital St Gallen after suffering multiple injuries and fractures in the crash on the sixth stage of the Tour de Suisse last month. There was no update on Soler's health on Saturday, but earlier this week Movistar team doctor Alfredo Zuniga said the Colombian, having been brought out of his coma, was "getting better very slowly" and that arrangements had been made to take him back to Pamplona.
That took place Saturday morning, with Soler being transferred by a special medical plane to the Clinica Universitaria de Navarra in Pamplona, the city where he resides during the cycling season.
A statement on the Movistar team website added: "Soler was accompanied on the journey by his wife and brother-in-law, who were received by the team's representatives before Soler was admitted into the Navarran medical centre, where the Latin American rider will undergo complete medical tests during the coming weeks to continue with the slow, yet positive progress on the injuries caused by the accident
