Hibberd dies after crash

Australian road cyclist Carly Hibberd has died after being hit by a car during a training ride in Italy.

The 26-year-old was struck while in the north of the country, Australia`s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said.
Hibberd`s fellow Australian, Cadel Evans, currently riding in the Tour de France, wrote on his Twitter page: "I'm very, very sorry, I ride that road too,"
Veteran sprinter Robbie McEwen added: "Just read the terribly sad news about the death of Aussie rider Carly Hibberd, sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to her loved ones.
