Maradona to return to Argentina helm?

Maradona to return to Argentina helm?

With Argentina looking a poor shadow of themselves under Sergio Batista's management, Diego Maradona could make a shock return as their manager.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, the mood in Argentina is shifting back in support of their football legend, especially with their Copa America hopes floundering.
This is despite the competition being held in Argentina itself, and now they need to beat Costa Rica on Tuesday to avoid an embarrasing exit at the group stage, a stark contrast to their pre-competition predictions of glory.
An early exit would certainly sound the death knell for Batista's tenure, especially if Brazil lift the trophy for third consecutive time in Argentina.
To compound matters for the manager, fans have already began making calls for Maradona's return, with many chanting the legend's name during their turgid 0-0 draw against Columbia last week.
