Sachin may sway BCCI to use Hawk-Eye
The BCCI could be persuaded to allow the usage of the Decision Review System by Sachin Tendulkar who has been convinced about its utility by the innovation's inventor.
Hawk-Eye inventor Paul Hawkins met Tendulkar before the start of India's ongoing Test series against England and claims to have removed all doubts from the batting maestro's mind about the system."The problem has been that the BCCI has made decisions without knowing the facts. It was clear Tendulkar had been told the Hawk-Eye system was manual, requiring an operator. He wasn't aware it is automatic and beyond corruption by humans," Hawkins was quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
"Once we had set the record straight with him, he left saying he would tell the BCCI and recommend the Hawk-Eye be used. I don't think it will take too much time for the BCCI to act on advice from Tendulkar," he added.
The DRS is being used in the ongoing India-England series but without the Hawkeye technology for the lbws, as was demanded by the BCCI.
Tendulkar, in the past, has made it clear that he is not against DRS.
"I'm not against DRS, but I feel it will be more effective with the support of the Snickometer and Hot Spot technology," he had stated.
