Starace sinks Reister in Bastad

Potito Starace moved through to the second round of the Swedish Open in Bastad with a straight-sets 7-6 (8/6) 6-3 win over Germany's Julian Reister.

Wild card Michael Ryderstedt, the Stockholm player ranked 311th in the world, delighted the home fans by pulling off a 6-4 2-6 6-2 victory over Argentina's world number 90 Maximo Gonzalez.
Other winners on the second day of competition included Teymuraz Gabashvili of Russia, Serbia's Blaz Kavcic and Spaniard Pere Riba, who beat another home hope, Christian Lindell, 6-4 6-2.
