Valdes eyeing Barcelona domination

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is excited ahead of the coming season and believes his side can challenge for silverware on all fronts.

The Catalan outfit showed last term why they are regarded as the best team in football at the moment as they cantered to La Liga and Champions League victories, although they lost out in the Copa del Rey final to arch-rivals Real Madrid.
With the start of the new season in sight now, Valdes believes Barca have what it takes to retain both titles they won last season.
"I'm really keen to get the season underway and [am] excited about the new challenges we'll be facing as we fight to retain all our titles," Valdes said on the club's official website.
Despite coach Pep Guardiola currently having a wealth of talented players at his disposal, Barca have been linked all summer with moves for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas and Udinese attacker Alexis Sanchez.
Valdes believes both would be ideal additions at the Nou Camp.
"Cesc is excited about coming back here and I'd like that.
"His way of playing would mean he'd have no problems adapting and he'd bring a lot of quality.
"Sanchez surprised me at last year's World Cup.
"He's very good, very fast and his main virtue is his ability to beat a man.
"He is undoubtedly a really valid option and a very good striker."
One of Barca's present stars is Lionel Messi, who has been having a less-than-memorable time representing Argentina at the Copa America so far.
However, Valdes has backed Messi to bounce back from the criticism that has been thrown at him.
"Everyone knows the quality he has - he's the best in the world and he will always show that."
Barcelona are yet make any summer transfers of note, while Real have already brought in five players in a bid to wrest the La Liga crown from their arch-rivals this season.
