Devendro crashes out of Olympics

AFP
Olympic News: Devendro vs Barnes

Devendro Singh's Olympics hopes ended after he was pounded out of the arena by Ireland's Paddy Barnes, who won the men's 49 kg quarter-final boxing match 23-18.
In what was a very hostile bout, the two boxers got off to an intense start in the first round but the Irish took an early lead with 7-5.
Devendro adopted some deseprate measures in the second, where he used his head and was consequently penalised two points. The Indian was no match for his Irish rival, who stormed away to a seven point lead, taking the second round 10-5.
With all to fight for in the third round, Devendro did look his part but despite garnering eight points to Barnes' six, he lost out in the overall tally.
