Singapore have won the bronze medal in the Women's Team Table Tennis event after sweeping past South Korea 3-0.
Feng
Tianwei got the Singaporeans off to the perfect start with a 3-1 win
over defensive expert Kim Kyungah (11-9, 11-8, 4-11, 13-11).Team-mate Li Jiawei then took Singapore one step closer to an Olympic medal after getting the better of Seok Hajung in four sets (11-5, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8).
This put the Singaporean team up 2-0 with the doubles to come.
And the Singapore pair of Yuegu Wang and Li Jiawei showed no mercy to the Koreans who brought in Dang Yeseo to partner Seok Hajung as they took the first two games in just over ten minutes (11-9, 11-6).
The Koreans responded by taking the third game 11-6, but the Singaporeans were not to be denied and they put together a steady run of points to ease to the deciding game 11-5.
This is Singapore's second medal at the London 2012 Olympics following Feng Tianwei's bronze in the women's singles.
It is also the first time Singapore has won two medals at a single Olympic Games.
