Larrazabal to go for broke in Munich

Larrazabal to go for broke in Munich
Pablo Larrazabal resumed the BMW International Open with a dual mission - to make amends for last year and to qualify for next month's Open Championship.
The 28-year-old, who entered the third round a stroke behind Swede Henrik Stenson and South African George Coetzee, led the event with three holes to play last year.
He then double-bogeyed the 16th, bogeyed the 17th and lost by two to England's David Horsey.
That was bitterly disappointing and so was what happened at Sunningdale earlier this month when he lost in near-darkness on the sixth hole of an Open qualifying play-off - against Coetzee.
"I really want to play The Open and this is one of the last chances I have, so I'm just going to go for it," he said.
Larrazabal needs a top two finish to claim one of the two Sandwich spots on offer from a mini-money list that has been running on the European Tour for the past month.
If he fails there are two further opportunities, but he would have to finish in the top five either at next week's French Open - the tournament he won three years ago - or the following week's Scottish Open.
Colin Montgomerie and Sergio Garcia are among the other players also still seeking an Open place, but they have their work cut out this weekend - Montgomerie made the cut with nothing to spare on two under and Garcia is six off the pace.
Despite him tumble down the world rankings from fourth two years ago to his current 124th Stenson is exempt for Royal St George's thanks to his third place finish at St Andrews last summer.
The former Ryder Cup star has been a shadow of his former self since then, falling ill and then suffering an alarming loss of form, but he was on the leaderboard for much of last week's US Open.
Garcia, whose own nosedive down the rankings has taken him from second to 64th, came an encouraging joint seventh at Congressional, albeit eleven strokes behind runaway winner Rory McIlroy.
The 31-year-old has not missed a major since the 1999 Open - the one he finished dead last in after rounds of 89 and 83 at Carnoustie - but on his return to Europe has also entered the Scottish Open.
