Zamparini reveals €50m Pastore bid

Zamparini reveals €50m Pastore bid
Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini has revealed the club have received a €50million bid for Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore.
Pastore's future has been the subject of much speculation recently, with a host of top European sides ready to make a move for the 22-year-old after an impressive campaign where he helped Palermo qualify for the Europa League via their runners-up finish in the Coppa Italia.
Zamparini has regularly voiced his belief that Pastore could be tempted to a move to England or Spain this summer, and has revealed a €50m bid has been tabled with the club.
"I can confirm that I have received a €50m bid for Pastore from a foreign club," Zamparini was quoted as saying by Il Corriere dello Sport.
However, he then raised uncertainty over the authenticity of his comments when asked what country the bid had come from, but continued by reiterating his belief that there is only a slight chance Pastore would still be playing for Palermo next season.
"From what country? Iceland."
"The chance that he will still play here next season is only ten percent."
Zamparini also revealed that Pastore still remained undecided over his future, but that they were a host of clubs with a concrete interest in signing him.
"He is currently in Argentina preparing for the Copa America and is quite calm.
"His agent is considering three or four offers for him at the moment.
"I am sure he doesn't have a preference as to his next destination."
Since joining from Huracan in 2009, Pastore has clocked up up nearly 80 appearances for Palermo, and has established himself as a regular for the Argentinean national team.
