Dhoni happy to settle for draw

MS Dhoni defended his decision to call a halt to a seemingly achievable run chase as India claimed a 1-0 series win over the West Indies with a draw in the third Test in Dominica.
Only 86 runs were needed off the 90 balls remaining when the captains shook hands, India 94 for three in their pursuit of 180 after dismissing the hosts for 322 in the afternoon session.
In the post-match presentation, broadcast on Sky Sports 3, Dhoni said: "The gamble was quite high for us. We were risking a series win.
"It was fair enough to give it a go but it wasn't going for us. I think we called it a day at the right time."
It was the second time in the series his troops had failed to close out a victory.
He said: "I'm not disappointed. I think the team did really well. Credit goes to (the West Indies), they batted well.
"It was a very slow wicket. Harbhajan (Singh) was getting a bit of spin and bounce, we relied on him quite heavily.
"I thought it was a good performance by the bowlers. They did what they could."
In the first Test match to be played on the Windsor Park ground, West Indies were indebted to Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who scored an unbeaten 116 as he became the West Indies' most capped player.
That followed on from a century from Kirk Edwards on his debut.
"We're very pleased with the result," said captain Darren Sammy.
"I would like to thank the Dominican public for coming out. Although we got a draw they made it feel like a win.
"It shows when we go out and fight the Caribbean people still love us.
"It was good to see Edwards coming up with a century and Shiv, the way he batted, he showed he's still one of the better batsmen in our side."
On his landmark appearance, Chanderpaul said: "It just goes to show what hard work and perseverance can do."
