US Open boasts marquee field
The world's top 100 male players are all included in the field for the 2011 US Open.
With no injury withdrawals, organisers have been able to announce a full field for the final Grand Slam tournament of the season.The 104 direct entrants were revealed on Thursday with the top 101 players on the ATP ranking list included - Marc Gicquel being the final player to scrape into the main draw.
In addition, 2007 Australian Open runner-up Fernando Gonzalez, former world number two Tommy Haas and service-speed world record holder Ivo Karlovic have all gained places using protected rankings following lengthy injury absences.
Wimbledon and Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic heads the field, while Rafael Nadal will bid to defend the title he won last September.
Roger Federer will be looking to win his sixth US Open crown and create another piece of history. He is currently tied with Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors for the most US titles in the Open era.
World number four Andy Murray is Great Britain's only direct entrant, while Mardy Fish and former champion Andy Roddick will lead the home challenge in New York.
The final field of 128 will be completed by eight wild cards and 16 qualifiers.
The tournament takes place between August 29 and September 11 at Flushing Meadows.
