Vettel: Red Bull must stop Ferrari
Sebastian Vettel has urged Red Bull produce a prompt response to Ferarri's British Grand Prix win last weekend.
Fernando Alonso gave Ferrari their first win in eleven races as a pit-stop blunder from Red Bull cost Vettel another victory. The reigning world champion went on to finish second ahead of team-mate Mark Webber.
Speaking in a video interview on Red Bull's official website, Vettel has warned his team against allowing Ferrari to sneak into the championship race while it is still in their hands.
"It was a tough race and Ferrari were very quick - Fernando in particular - and they beat us," he said. "We need to accept this and to understand that when you get beaten you have to accept it.
"Overall it was a lesson to learn and it is up to us now to refocus and make sure that we come back with stronger performance for the next couple of races.
"It is a very important time now for the championship. We are in a good position still, but we need to keep working on ourselves otherwise the others come too close for our liking."
Vettel has taken six victories so far this season and leads the drivers' championship table by 80 points from team mate Webber.
Alonso, meanwhile, is a further 12 points adrift in third. In the constructors' standings, Red Bull lead McLaren 328 points to 218, with Ferrari third on 164.
