Ryu lifts US Women's Open crown
So Yeon Ryu won the US Women's Open after defeating fellow South Korean Hee Kyung Seo in a play-off at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
Ryu returned to the course on Monday to finish her final round, which had been suspended on Sunday due to darkness. She carded a 69 to tie with Seo's three-under-par total of 281.After both picked up pars on the 16th, Ryu birdied the 17th and 18th, while a bogey on 17 put paid to Seo's chances as Ryu clinched the play-off by three strokes.
The 21-year-old Ryu became the first South Korean to win an LPGA Tour event this season and the third youngest US Women's Open winner behind Inbee Park and Se Ri Pak.
